2024 COVID-19 and Health Safety Protocols

We have all been living with Covid19 for over four years. Safety protocols keep shifting and could shift again by camp in July, as Covid is currently on the rise. We had no reported cases of Covid among the campers or staff following our 2022 and 2023 camps. The health and safety of all campers and staff is our highest priority. While Covid is not being treated the same as before, we do need to keep in mind some of the lessons learned and carry them over into our gathering. One of the premises that Camp It Up! has been created on, is respect and care for one another. Even though we might not see it or know it, there are a number of attendees who have compromised immune systems and/or are in high-risk groups. We want to support their health, safety, and privacy. To that end, we want to help ensure that no unnecessary colds, flus, RSV, Norovirus (NOR), and Covid are passed one to another. We want folks to take home a lifetime of memories, not a health issue.

Covid Vaccinations

  • All campers 6 months and up must be fully vaccinated and have received the current booster available since September 2023.
  • Proof of vaccinations/boosters are required when you register.

Covid Testing

  • All campers and staff will be required to be tested, with a home test, on the day of your arrival at camp.
  • You will be required to show proof of a negative test for everyone in your family attending camp in order to come onto the site.

Masks

  • All campers and staff are required to wear a mask that fits snugly over chin, mouth, and nose WHEN indoors, including but not limited to:
    • In the bathhouses, except when showering, brushing your teeth, or other grooming that requires you to be unmasked.
    • When entering camper and staff housing other than your own family/pod.
    • Lodge Hall
    • Camp Cafe/Store
  • All campers and staff are required to wear a mask that fits snugly over chin, mouth, and nose if you have allergies that cause you to cough or sneeze.
  • All campers/staff need to bring enough masks for you and your family. CIU! will have masks available if needed.
  • Some campers/staff will be wearing masks at non-required times, because they are in a high-risk group or prefer masks as a safety protocol. Please be respectful by following masked campers/staff's lead as to what is a safe distance for them.
  • Ask before hugging people whether they are masked or unmasked.

Hand-Washing and Disinfecting

  • To help reduce the spread of COVID and other communicable diseases at camp, we ask that you wash your hands often during your stay and before and after each meal at camp. The site will be disinfecting and sanitizing regularly, we encourage you to bring and utilize the wipes and hand sanitizer.

Important Camper/Staff Self-Screening:

  • Prior to arrival, upon your arrival, and during your stay, please have everyone in your party ask yourselves the following:
    1. Have you experienced any symptoms of COVID-19 (fever of 100.4 Fahrenheit or greater, cough, shortness of breath, diarrhea, fatigue, headache, muscle aches, nausea, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, vomiting, etc., RSV, NOR, the flu within the last 10 days?
    2. Have you been in close contact with a person who has been diagnosed with, tested positive for, or quarantined as a result of COVID-19, RSV, NOR or the flu?

Campers/Staff who answer YES to any of the preceding questions should check-in with the Camp Navarro Medic, and the CIU! Camp Director immediately, and plan to immediately leave site and return home.

We thank you so much for keeping the safety of yourself and others at the highest of priorities.
